Is the 2018 Buick Encore a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Buick Encore earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers commonly praise its good gas mileage, safety features, smooth ride, interior comfort, and the number of amenities it offers for its size. The main trade-offs mentioned are limited cabin space and concerns about the backup camera. With 22.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 Buick Encore reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience, with drivers highlighting good gas mileage, a smooth ride, and the kind of comfort that supports everyday use. That combination suggests you can count on it for routine driving if the specific used example has been maintained well.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the vehicle you choose has been cared for properly, since condition can matter more than the model’s overall reputation.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Buick Encore?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 22.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 172 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.52% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $13,869 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Buick Encore's resale value?

The current average of $13,913 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,667 CAD.

That softer pricing means future sellers may face a more competitive market if values continue to ease. If you buy now, the lower entry price can help offset some depreciation risk, especially if you plan to keep the vehicle for several years. Strong demand for well-kept examples should still support resale, but condition and mileage will matter a lot.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Buick Encore or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 22.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.52% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 Buick Encore makes sense if you want a used small SUV with strong owner satisfaction and a softer price environment than a year ago. If you are price-sensitive, it is worth comparing nearby model years as well, but the 2018 stands out as a sensible choice when you find a well-priced example in good condition.
