How much does the 2017 Volkswagen Beetle cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $18,277 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $17,162 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $20,675 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $20,199 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −9.52% |
Prices have softened 9.52% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 60 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for shoppers to compare.
Is the 2017 Volkswagen Beetle a good car?
Yes — the 2017 Volkswagen Beetle earns a user rating of 5/5, which points to strong owner satisfaction.
With 36.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful share of the market to shop from if you want value.
Is the 2017 Volkswagen Beetle reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
For used buyers, that kind of owner feedback can reduce perceived long-term ownership risk, especially if the vehicle has been maintained well.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Volkswagen Beetle?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can be choosy without expecting every listing to be a bargain.
- Deal availability: 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 60 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 9.52% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $17,162 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2017 Volkswagen Beetle's resale value?
The current average of $18,277 CAD sits slightly below last year's $20,199 CAD.
That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays steady. If you plan to sell later, buying closer to the lower end of the range can help protect your position. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2017 Volkswagen Beetle or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2017 if:
- 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 9.52% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: The 2017 is a sensible choice if you want a model year with softer pricing and a decent share of value-oriented listings. If you're especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years to see whether a lower average price better fits your budget.
