Is the 2017 Toyota Sienna a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Toyota Sienna earns a 4.88/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its spacious interior, comfort, and reliability, and many also value the versatile seating layout and family-friendly convenience features. That makes it a strong fit if you want a practical minivan for everyday family use, especially since the model is built around space and flexibility rather than style alone. With 39.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.

Is the 2017 Toyota Sienna reliable?

The user feedback highlights reliability, comfort, and a trouble-free ownership experience as recurring strengths, and many drivers describe it as a dependable family vehicle they can count on. That said, used buyers should still inspect the power sliding doors and the transmission carefully, since those are the main long-term ownership risks to watch for.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Toyota Sienna?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you’re patient and focused on condition.

• Deal availability: 39.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 86 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.56% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $23,827 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Toyota Sienna's resale value?

The current average of $23,827 CAD sits slightly below last year's $28,902 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the Sienna more attractive to buyers today but may also limit upside for a future seller if prices stay soft. If you buy well now, you may have less depreciation pressure than someone who purchased when prices were higher. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.88/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Toyota Sienna or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 39.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.56% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.88/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of value, family-friendly space, and strong owner satisfaction, the 2017 is a sensible choice to prioritise. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-maintained example rather than chasing the newest badge alone.
