Is the 2017 Toyota Corolla a good car?

Yes — the 4.5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its fuel efficiency, comfort, and features, and many also highlight its reliability and quality of ride. User feedback repeatedly points to reliability, and owners also describe it as dependable and trouble-free in day-to-day use. For used buyers, the main risk is less about the Corolla’s core durability and more about finding one that has been maintained properly over time.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Toyota Corolla?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be patient and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 313 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.25% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $15,338 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Toyota Corolla's resale value?

The current average of $15,338 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,537 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has eased, which can help you buy more selectively now, but it also means future sellers may face a softer resale environment than they would have a year ago. Even so, the Corolla’s broad appeal and practical reputation should help support demand when you eventually sell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Toyota Corolla or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.25% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $14,299 CAD, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $15,338 CAD average.
• It offers strong value and everyday usefulness.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2017 if you want the newer model-year pricing context and a healthy pool of listings to compare. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2016 is the better secondary path because it undercuts the current year's average while still delivering the Corolla’s core value proposition.
