Should I buy a 2017 Toyota Corolla or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 26.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.62% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $14,540 CAD, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $15,566 CAD average.
• It is a value-focused small car with strong fuel economy and a polished feel.

The bottom line: Choose the 2017 if you want the newer update, stronger standard equipment, and a still-reasonable used price. If your priority is saving money above all else, the 2016 is the better value play.
