Is the 2017 Porsche Macan a good car?

Yes — 4.86/5 is a strong user rating, and it lines up with the Macan’s appeal as a compact SUV that feels sporty and premium. Owners consistently praise its power, handling, and luxurious feel, which makes it especially attractive if you want a vehicle that is enjoyable to drive rather than just practical. Is the 2017 Porsche Macan reliable?

Owners rate it 4.86/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels reliable, dependable, and satisfying to live with over time, especially when you value a premium driving experience. That kind of praise suggests the Macan can be a reassuring choice if you want something you can count on for regular use. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is paying too much for a poorly maintained example, so service history and condition matter.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Porsche Macan?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 186 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.34% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $24,637 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Porsche Macan's resale value?

The current average of $25,215 CAD sits slightly below last year's $29,437 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price carefully to stay competitive. If you buy at the right number now, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to last year’s average. The Macan’s premium image and strong owner satisfaction should help support demand, especially for well-kept examples with desirable equipment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.86/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Porsche Macan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.34% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.86/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of value and the classic Macan driving experience, the 2017 is a smart place to focus. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby year with a lower asking price may be worth comparing, but the 2017 stands out when you want a well-regarded, premium compact SUV with solid market support.
