Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Nissan Qashqai?

This looks like a moderate time to buy if you are a selective shopper who can compare a few listings before making a move.

• Deal availability: 27.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 141 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.03% compared with last year.

What is the 2017 Nissan Qashqai's resale value?

The current average of $12,594 CAD sits slightly below last year's $14,649 CAD.

For a future seller, that points to a market that has already adjusted downward, so resale expectations should be set with today's softer pricing in mind. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later, but the current trend still favours buyers more than sellers.

Should I buy a 2017 Nissan Qashqai or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 27.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.03% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a sensible pick if you want a used Qashqai with a lower average price and a reasonable number of listings to compare. If your priority is stretching your budget further, keep shopping this year closely and focus on the best-priced examples; if you want to compare alternatives, a nearby model year may still be worth a look, especially if you find a cleaner listing or a better deal.
