Is the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder a good car?

Generally — the 4.4/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its comfort, spaciousness, and family-friendly features, and many also like the smooth performance and good gas mileage. For you, that makes it a sensible pick if you want a three-row SUV with useful technology and everyday practicality. With 31.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many people find dependable enough to live with day to day, especially when it comes to comfort and family use. At the same time, some owners mention steering issues and tire wear, so you should pay close attention to maintenance records and the condition of the steering and tyres before you buy. For used buyers, that means the long-term ownership risk looks manageable, but a careful inspection matters.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Nissan Pathfinder?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings closely.

• Deal availability: 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 178 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.52% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $13,478 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder's resale value?

The current average of $13,705 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,616 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Pathfinder easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you purchase at the lower end of the current range, you may reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. Strong demand from family buyers can still help support values, especially for well-kept examples with desirable equipment.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.52% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a three-row SUV with strong family appeal, useful technology, and a price that has come down meaningfully, the 2017 is a good year to target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby model years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, equipment, and asking price.
