Is the 2017 Mazda CX-3 a good car?

Yes — 4.5/5 is a strong user rating for the 2017 Mazda CX-3, and it fits the model’s appeal as a small crossover with a sporty character and a more premium feel than many rivals. The overview points to a stylish design, fun-to-drive nature, and strong safety reputation, while also noting that it can work well if you value a compact vehicle with upscale touches. Its limited rear-seat room and cargo space mean it makes the most sense if you prioritise driving enjoyment and cabin polish over maximum practicality. The market reflects that appeal, with 35.1% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2017 Mazda CX-3 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview supports that impression by highlighting the CX-3’s strong safety reputation and its well-equipped, premium-leaning design. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright complexity and more about whether the vehicle’s small size and limited practicality still suit your needs over time.

What is the 2017 Mazda CX-3's resale value?

The current average of $13,354 CAD sits slightly below last year's $15,644 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the model has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to stay competitive on asking price. If you buy well now, the current market gives you a clearer entry point than it did a year ago. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Mazda CX-3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.63% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 Mazda CX-3 makes the most sense if you want a small crossover with a premium feel, sporty road manners, and a market that currently gives you some negotiating room. If you are especially price-sensitive, keep shopping the broader CX-3 range and compare listings closely, but the 2017 is a sensible primary target when you want style and value in the same package.
