The 2017 Mazda CX-3 stands out as a small crossover that leans heavily into Mazda’s sporty character, with a stylish design, fun-to-drive nature, and a more premium feel than many rivals. Is the 2017 Mazda CX-3 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2017 Mazda CX-3’s appeal comes from its strong safety reputation and the way Mazda equipped it with useful standard features, including LED headlights, keyless entry, and an 8.8-inch infotainment screen with Mazda Connect, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Its premium-leaning character and straightforward feature set can make it a reassuring used buy if you value a small crossover that feels well thought out.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about complexity and more about whether the compact cabin and limited cargo space still fit your needs over time.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Mazda CX-3?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 107 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.49% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $13,138 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Mazda CX-3's resale value?

The current average of $13,158 CAD sits slightly below last year's $15,569 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, which can put some pressure on future resale expectations if you plan to sell soon. At the same time, the CX-3’s premium feel and sporty character help it stay appealing to shoppers looking for a small crossover with a more upscale personality. If demand remains steady, that should support a reasonably stable resale profile.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
