Smooth ride and tons of gitty_up power. Very roomy inside. Handles well.

OK car, but tail lights keep going out and a headlight just went out.

So if you go with the forte and it says Apple car play or Android auto. Bring a cable and actually make sure! Ours said it and it didnt have it. We couldnt do a map upgrade and get it, cause our 2017 does not have navigation. If it did, the update wouldve worked.

This is my second Kia and it will be my last! Got the Forte and the dim lights stopped working, just like a LOT of other Fortes! So dangerous but no recall????????????????

So if you go with the forte and it says Apple car play or Android auto. Bring a cable and actually make sure! Ours said it and it didnt have it. We couldnt do a map upgrade and get it, cause our 2017 does not have navigation. If it did, the update wouldve worked.

How much does the 2017 Kia Forte cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $10,970 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $10,267 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $11,867 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $11,845 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −7.39% |
Prices have softened 7.39% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 146 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2017 Kia Forte a good car?
The 2017 Kia Forte can be a sensible used-car choice if you want a compact sedan with a market price that has moved lower and a user rating of 3.3/5.
That rating suggests the ownership experience is more mixed than standout, so you should focus on condition, maintenance history, and how the specific listing is priced relative to the market. With 27.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Kia Forte?
This looks like a moderate buyer's market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.
- Deal availability: 27.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 146 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.39% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $10,267 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2017 Kia Forte's resale value?
The current average of $10,970 CAD sits slightly below last year's $11,845 CAD.
For a future seller, that means the market has already adjusted downward, so your resale outcome will depend heavily on mileage, condition, and how well your car stands out against similar listings. If you buy at a competitive price now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later.
Should I buy a 2017 Kia Forte or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2017 if:
- 27.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.39% compared with last year.
The bottom line: The 2017 is a reasonable pick if you want a used Forte with a softer market price and enough listings to compare carefully. If you're especially price-sensitive, you may also want to look at nearby model years and choose the one with the best combination of condition, mileage, and asking price.
