The current average of $13,759 CAD sits slightly below last year's $15,794 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can be a challenge if you're planning to sell soon. On the other hand, the current level may help keep the vehicle attractive to used buyers who are comparing value across similar SUVs. If demand stays steady, a well-kept example should remain easier to move than one with visible wear or incomplete service history.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.88% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a sensible choice if you want a well-liked SUV with a softer price than a year ago and enough inventory to compare options. If you're price-sensitive, you may want to keep an eye on listings near the low end of the range and move quickly when a clean example appears.
