Is the 2017 Honda Odyssey a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Honda Odyssey earns a 4.6/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a roomy family minivan that still feels easy to drive and is built around everyday practicality. Is the 2017 Honda Odyssey reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback highlights reliable performance and a dependable ownership experience, with many drivers describing the Odyssey as a vehicle they can count on for family use. The same feedback also points to its spacious interior and safety features as part of that confidence. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the vehicle has been cared for properly, since condition and maintenance history matter more as mileage rises.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Honda Odyssey?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 165 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.77% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,776 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Honda Odyssey's resale value?

The current average of $18,985 CAD sits slightly below last year's $22,810 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the Odyssey more attractive to buyers today but a little less favourable for future sellers if values continue to ease. If you buy now, you may be entering at a more reasonable price point than owners saw a year ago. For resale, that means your return will depend heavily on how well the vehicle is maintained and how clean it looks when you decide to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Honda Odyssey or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.77% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a proven, well-liked family minivan with strong owner satisfaction and a softer used-market price, the 2017 is a sensible choice. If you're especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the best-maintained example rather than chasing the newest badge.
