This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to compare options and enough deal activity to reward patience.

• Inventory: There are 91 listings available.

What is the 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback's resale value?

The current average of $16,622 CAD sits slightly below last year's $18,422 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests future sellers may face a more competitive market if supply stays healthy. For you, that can mean less upside if you plan to resell soon, but it also helps keep today’s purchase price more grounded. If you buy well and keep the car in strong condition, you may be better positioned when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.56/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 26.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.77% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.56/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a used Civic Hatchback with strong owner satisfaction and a softer price trend, the 2017 is a sensible primary choice. If you’re especially price-sensitive, keep shopping listings carefully and focus on the best-priced examples, since the current market still offers some room to negotiate.
