That softer pricing suggests the Accord is currently more buyer-friendly than it was a year ago, which can help you enter ownership at a lower cost basis. For a future seller, that also means resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Honda Accord or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 26.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.44% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $15,011 CAD, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $17,060 CAD average.
• It offers a lower-cost, sensible ownership path with fewer worries.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $18,981 CAD, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $17,060 CAD average.
• It adds a more engaging driving feel and a more polished overall experience.

The bottom line: The 2017 is the best all-around pick if you want a well-liked, well-priced Accord with strong owner satisfaction. If your priority is saving money, the 2016 is the better value play; if you want a newer-feeling Accord and can stretch your budget, the 2018 is worth a look.
