Is the 2017 Ford Edge reliable?

User feedback also describes it as reliable, with many owners saying it has a lot to offer for the price and can be a dependable choice over time. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk looks manageable, but a careful pre-purchase check is still important.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Ford Edge?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to compare listings and wait for the right deal.

• Deal availability: 24.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 282 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.42% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $13,992 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Ford Edge's resale value?

The current average of $14,206 CAD sits slightly below last year's $17,414 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favourable point in the cycle, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, the current trend suggests you should focus on condition, mileage, and maintenance history to protect value. Strong presentation and a clean service record matter more when prices have already eased.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.43/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Ford Edge or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 24.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.42% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.43/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a used Ford Edge with strong owner satisfaction and a softer price than a year ago, the 2017 is a sensible primary choice. If you're especially price-sensitive, keep comparing nearby model years and focus on the best-maintained example rather than chasing the lowest sticker price alone.
