This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 314 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.02% compared with last year.

What is the 2017 Audi Q5's resale value?

The current average of $14,634 CAD sits slightly below last year's $17,425 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, the current trend suggests you should focus on condition, service records, and trim appeal to protect value. Well-kept examples should still attract steady interest from shoppers looking for a premium compact SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Audi Q5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.02% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $19,312 CAD, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $14,634 CAD average.
• It brings a full redesign with more room, newer technology, and improved refinement.

The bottom line: Choose the 2017 if you want the lower entry price and a well-equipped luxury SUV that still feels premium. If you can stretch your budget and want the newer design, more space, and updated tech, the 2018 is the stronger all-rounder. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2017 remains the smarter value play.
