CarGurus Analysis: 2017 Acura RDX
Summary
With 14 currently listed for sale and an average price of $12,985 CAD, 57.1% of 2017 Acura RDX listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2017 Acura RDX 4.9 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2017 Acura RDX sits in the second generation of Acura’s compact luxury crossover and reflects the model’s move toward a more practical, comfortable formula. It uses a 3.5-litre V6 with 273 horsepower, paired with standard all-wheel drive through a six-speed automatic transmission. Acura also softened the suspension for a more comfortable driving experience and lowered the vehicle compared with the first generation, giving the RDX a calmer, more family-friendly character without abandoning its premium feel.
For buyers, the appeal is in the balance of space, equipment, and everyday usability. The cabin was enlarged, with plenty of room for adults in both rows, and cargo space measured 739 litres behind the second row and 2,178 litres with the rear seats folded flat. Standard equipment included 18-inch alloy wheels, a sunroof, automatic headlights, keyless entry and ignition, dual-zone climate control, power heated front seats with leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a seven-speaker audio system with Bluetooth connectivity. The optional Technology Package added a power tailgate, navigation, and a 10-speaker ELS premium audio system.
There are a few drawbacks to keep in mind. The infotainment setup in the Technology Package used an eight-inch centre display and a seven-inch touchscreen, and it was not very intuitive to use. Even so, the 2017 Acura RDX remains appealing for shoppers who want a compact luxury SUV that feels roomy, comfortable, and well equipped, with stronger performance than many practical crossovers in its class.

Feature set for this model good. Not having retractable mirrors is a disappointment. Otherwise I’m pleased with the design.

The 2017 Acura RDX is an excellent choice for a nice suv. This particular model year has a v6 with lots of power. With tons of standard features it is a bargain and fun to drive. The only negative is that it needs premium gas for optimum performance. Great product at a reasonable price compared to its competitors.

Yes — the 2017 Acura RDX earns a 4.9/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its spacious and luxurious feel, smooth ride, and robust power, and many also like the features and premium design. It suits you well if you want a compact luxury SUV that feels roomy, comfortable, and easy to live with for everyday use. With 31.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some attractive value in the market.
Is the 2017 Acura RDX reliable?
Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The user feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with owners highlighting the RDX’s smooth operation and the kind of comfort you can count on over time. For used buyers, that suggests lower day-to-day ownership stress if you choose a well-kept example with a clean service history.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Acura RDX?
This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.
- Deal availability: 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 134 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 10.56% compared with last year.

What is the 2017 Acura RDX's resale value?
The current average of $17,611 CAD sits slightly below last year's $19,690 CAD.
That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, which can make resale a little more competitive for future sellers. If you own one, pricing it well and presenting it cleanly will matter more when you eventually list it. The good news is that the RDX’s premium badge, roomy cabin, and strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when it’s time to sell.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2017 Acura RDX or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2017 if:
- 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 10.56% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: If you want a comfortable, roomy, well-equipped compact luxury SUV and you find a clean 2017 at a strong price, it’s a smart primary choice. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby model years to see whether a similar RDX offers a better deal or slightly newer features for not much more money.
