Is the 2017 Acura RDX a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Acura RDX earns a 4.88/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its spacious and luxurious feel, smooth ride, and robust power, and many also like the available features and technology. It fits well if you want a practical luxury crossover with room for adults in both rows and a comfort-first driving character. With 35.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2017 Acura RDX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.88/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience, with drivers highlighting the RDX’s smooth, trouble-free feel and the kind of comfort that makes it easy to count on day to day. That said, some owners mention premium fuel as a downside, so your long-term running costs may be a little higher than you expect.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright reliability and more about whether the vehicle’s maintenance history and operating costs fit your budget.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Acura RDX?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 131 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.66% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $17,869 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Acura RDX's resale value?

The current average of $17,869 CAD sits slightly below last year's $20,227 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has softened, which can make the RDX easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you purchase at the current average or below, you may have less room for appreciation, so condition and mileage matter even more. On the other hand, a well-kept example can still hold appeal because shoppers continue to value this model year’s comfort, space, and equipment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.88/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Acura RDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.66% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.88/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 Acura RDX is a smart pick if you want a comfortable, practical luxury crossover with strong owner approval and a market that currently favours patient shoppers. If you’re price-sensitive, you can also look at nearby years, but the 2017 stands out as a balanced choice when you want a well-liked model with decent deal availability.
