Is the 2016 Porsche Macan a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Porsche Macan earns a 5/5 user rating, and its appeal comes from blending Porsche-style performance with compact SUV practicality. It is a five-seater with all-wheel drive and a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission, and it is aimed at you if you want a premium compact SUV that feels more focused on driving enjoyment than on pure comfort. Its high-quality interior and generous standard equipment help it feel complete, while the sleek shape gives it a distinctive look. 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Porsche Macan reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2016 Macan is described as having a good reliability record, and it keeps the earlier formula that helped define the model: strong performance, a high-quality interior, and a premium feel. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a performance-focused SUV can be more demanding to maintain than a more ordinary compact crossover.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Porsche Macan?

It looks like a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective without expecting every good example to sit around for long.

• Deal availability: 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 120 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.33% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $20,852 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Porsche Macan's resale value?

The current average of $22,224 CAD sits slightly below last year's $27,550 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Macan more attractive to you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend more on condition, mileage, and equipment than on broad market momentum. Because the model still has strong appeal as a premium, driver-focused SUV, well-kept examples should continue to draw interest.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Porsche Macan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.33% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest value balance, the 2016 is the better starting point because it combines a lower average price with a solid satisfaction signal and a decent share of deal-priced listings. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a slightly older example gives you a lower entry point, but the 2016 already looks like a sensible buy if you want the Macan’s core appeal without paying peak-market pricing.
