Is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA a good car?

Generally — the 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA earns a 4.3/5 user rating, which supports its appeal as a compact luxury car that leans heavily on style. Its design-first approach gives it a distinctive presence, and the cabin and overall feel aim to deliver the premium atmosphere you expect from the brand.

It is also practical enough to live with every day, with a smooth, relaxing drive and a comfortable interior. In Canada, the standard all-wheel drive adds confidence in poor weather, which broadens its usefulness beyond just looks.

Is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA is described as a car that can be appealing for shoppers who want luxury and style in a compact package, but it is best approached with an eye on condition and maintenance history. Its earliest model-year status means you should pay close attention to service records and how well the car has been maintained.

For used buyers, that means the biggest long-term ownership risk is buying a neglected example rather than the model’s basic appeal.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you’re comparing listings.

• Deal availability: 28.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 66 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.41% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $14,156 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA's resale value?

The current average of $14,300 CAD sits slightly below last year's $17,744 CAD.

That price movement suggests the model has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can be helpful if you are buying now and planning to sell later. If the market stays steady, future resale values may be supported by the car’s premium badge and distinctive styling.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 28.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2016 if you want the CLA’s style-first design, premium feel, and everyday usability at a lower used price. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may still be worth comparing, but the 2016 is the stronger value play when you find a well-kept example with good maintenance history.
