Is the 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport a good car?

Generally — the 4.38/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction for this model year. Owners repeatedly praise the powerful engine, smooth ride, beautiful interior, and spacious cabin, which fits the Range Rover Sport’s role as a luxury SUV that still offers real practicality. If you want a premium SUV with presence, comfort, and capability, this model year lines up well with that use case. Still, the market shows 33.8% of listings as good or great deals, so there is some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport reliable?

Owners rate it 4.38/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a vehicle that can feel dependable when it is working well, with praise centred on the strong drivetrain, smooth ride, and upscale cabin experience. At the same time, some reviewers mention mechanical issues, so reliability should be weighed carefully against the model’s luxury and performance appeal. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is still something you should factor into your budget and inspection process.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers: there are deals to be found, but you should still compare listings closely and focus on condition.

• Deal availability: 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 130 listings available.

If you find a listing below $22,291 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport's resale value?

The current average of $22,295 CAD sits slightly below last year's $28,800 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the softer pricing means you should expect more competition from similarly priced listings and may need to lean on condition, service history, and trim appeal to stand out. The current spread between the low and high end also shows that well-kept examples can still command a meaningful premium.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.38/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 22.59% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.38/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of value and owner satisfaction, the 2016 is the year to focus on, especially if you can find a well-kept example priced near the lower end of the range. If you are especially price-sensitive, keep shopping across nearby model years and compare condition, because the best deal may come down to maintenance history more than model-year differences.
