Is the 2016 Jeep Wrangler a good car?

Yes — the 4.6/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its fun driving experience, comfortable interior, and impressive power, especially with the manual transmission. You also get a vehicle that fits buyers who want old-school Wrangler character with enough modern convenience for everyday use, including features like navigation, premium audio, and heated front seats. With 27.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Jeep Wrangler reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a simple, dependable ownership experience with lower repair costs, which is encouraging if you want something you can count on over time. That said, the same reviews note noisy road manners and bumpy pavement behaviour, so long-term ownership risk is less about mechanical confidence and more about whether you can live with its compromises as a used SUV.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Jeep Wrangler?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to compare listings carefully rather than rush.

• Deal availability: 27.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 249 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.25% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,130 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Jeep Wrangler's resale value?

The current average of $18,130 CAD sits slightly below last year's $22,176 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favourable point in the cycle. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. Because the Wrangler has strong enthusiast appeal, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than average used SUVs.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Jeep Wrangler or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 27.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.25% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a strong choice if you want the Wrangler’s classic character, modern usability, and a market that currently gives you some negotiating room. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years for the best combination of condition and asking price, but the 2016 remains a sensible target when you want the core Wrangler experience without paying top-of-market pricing.
