Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe XL?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 23.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 89 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.24% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $11,811 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe XL's resale value?

The current average of $12,551 CAD sits slightly below last year's $13,245 CAD.

That softer pricing can be a mixed signal if you're thinking about future resale: it may help you buy at a more attractive entry point now, but it also suggests the market has eased a bit compared with a year ago. If you plan to sell later, holding onto a well-kept example and keeping maintenance records should help you stand out when demand is more selective. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe XL or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 23.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.24% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want this generation and value a model year with solid owner satisfaction plus some pricing softness, the 2016 is a sensible place to focus. If you're especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a similar vehicle offers a better entry price, but the 2016 already gives you a reasonable mix of availability and market value.
