Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe XL?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 91 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.93% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $11,120 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe XL's resale value?

The current average of $11,120 CAD sits slightly below last year's $12,077 CAD.

That softer pricing can be helpful if you’re buying now, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited unless market conditions improve. If you plan to sell later, the current trend suggests you should expect value to depend heavily on mileage, condition, and service history. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe XL or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.93% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of value and owner approval, the 2016 is the primary year to focus on. If your main priority is stretching your budget, you may also want to compare nearby years and see whether a lower-priced listing offers similar condition and equipment for less money.
