The current average of $42,560 CAD sits slightly above last year's $41,756 CAD.

That kind of price movement suggests the market has held up reasonably well, which can support resale confidence if you plan to sell later. With limited inventory and steady demand, well-kept examples should remain easier to position competitively. If you buy carefully now, you may be able to preserve value better than with a model year facing softer pricing.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 GMC Sierra 3500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 15.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.93% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest balance of current pricing, owner satisfaction, and available inventory, the 2016 is a sensible place to focus. If you're especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and prioritise the lowest-priced well-kept example rather than chasing the newest one.

How does the 2016 GMC Sierra 3500HD compare to the 2016 Ford F-350 Super Duty?

The GMC carries a slightly higher average used price, but it also has a higher share of good and great deals. The Ford offers much more inventory, so if selection matters most, it gives you more to compare. If you want a tighter market with a somewhat better deal share, the GMC is the more selective pick.
