Is the 2016 Ford Transit Cargo a good car?

With a 3.7/5 user rating, the 2016 Ford Transit Cargo looks like a solid choice if you value practicality over polish. Owners commonly praise its reliability, comfort, and driving performance, and they also point to the spacious interior and good value for the price. The main drawbacks mentioned are the brake pedal’s distance from the gas pedal and poor gas mileage with the V6 engine. With 25% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Ford Transit Cargo reliable?

Owners frequently describe the 2016 Ford Transit Cargo as reliable, and the feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers. That said, the mixed owner comments suggest you should still inspect maintenance history carefully and pay attention to how the van has been used, since long-term ownership risk can rise quickly on a hard-working cargo van.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Ford Transit Cargo?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective without expecting deep discounts on every listing.

• Deal availability: 25% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 116 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.26% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $19,636 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Ford Transit Cargo's resale value?

The current average of $20,601 CAD sits slightly below last year's $21,517 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has eased, which can help you buy at a more favourable point if you plan to keep the van for a while. For a future seller, the recent decline means resale value may be more sensitive to condition, mileage, and maintenance records. If you buy well now and keep the vehicle in strong shape, you may be better positioned when it comes time to sell.

Should I buy a 2016 Ford Transit Cargo or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 25% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.26% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a sensible pick if you want a used cargo van with a reasonable market price and enough inventory to compare options. If you’re price-sensitive, it also makes sense to cross-shop nearby years and focus on the best-maintained example rather than the cheapest one.
