There are 61 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of choice in the used market.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

Yes — 4.5/5 is a strong user rating for the 2016 Chevrolet Traverse, and it fits the needs of buyers who want a genuinely large three-row crossover with lots of passenger and cargo room. Its appeal is strongest if you value a usable third row, family-friendly space, and straightforward utility over compact dimensions or sporty handling. The market also shows 34.4% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Traverse reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2016 Chevrolet Traverse is described as having a poor reliability record, with concerns around electrical and power steering issues as well as engine and transmission trouble. That means you should be especially careful about service history and pre-purchase inspection when shopping used examples. For long-term ownership, the main risk is ending up with a vehicle that needs more repair attention than you expect.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Chevrolet Traverse?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings closely.

• Deal availability: 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 61 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 21.44% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $10,302 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Chevrolet Traverse's resale value?

The current average of $10,302 CAD sits slightly below last year's $13,113 CAD.

That price drop suggests the Traverse has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price, the remaining depreciation may be more manageable than it was a year ago. Still, the model’s reliability reputation can affect future buyer interest, so condition and maintenance history will matter a lot when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 21.44% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should focus on the 2016 if you want a spacious, value-oriented three-row SUV and you can verify that a specific example has been maintained properly. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the nearby model years may also be worth comparing, but the 2016 makes the most sense when you want the strongest mix of current pricing and buyer satisfaction.
