How much does the 2016 BMW X3 cost?

There are 134 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2016 BMW X3 a good car?

Yes — the 2016 BMW X3 earns a 4.5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its smooth driving experience, powerful performance, and luxury features, and many also like its mid-size SUV styling paired with sports car handling. That fits well if you want a compact luxury SUV with a high driving position, easy access, and a more engaging road feel than many rivals. With 35.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you also have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.

Is the 2016 BMW X3 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many people find dependable in day-to-day use, with praise centred on its smooth driving experience and strong performance. That said, the same feedback also flags higher insurance and maintenance costs, so reliability for you may depend as much on upkeep history as on the badge itself. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is being caught by premium repair and maintenance bills if the vehicle has not been well maintained.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 BMW X3?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 134 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.72% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $14,172 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 BMW X3's resale value?

The current average of $14,352 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,076 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has softened, which can make the X3 easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you purchase at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may be better positioned to protect value later. The model’s premium image and owner satisfaction can help support demand, but resale will still depend heavily on mileage, condition, and maintenance records.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 BMW X3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.72% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a compact luxury SUV with a sporty driving feel, premium features, and strong owner approval, the 2016 is a solid place to focus your search. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and prioritise the best-maintained example rather than chasing the newest badge alone.
