The 4Runner’s rugged reputation and strong owner satisfaction help support demand, which can cushion resale value better than many other used SUVs. Even so, the current trend suggests you should expect value retention to be solid rather than rising sharply.

Should I buy a 2015 Toyota 4Runner or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 27.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.42% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2015 is a strong choice if you want the 4Runner’s rugged character, standard four-wheel drive, and proven owner appeal without paying more for a newer model year. If your priority is stretching your budget, a nearby year with lower asking prices may be worth considering, but the 2015 remains the better pick if you value a balanced mix of price, satisfaction, and long-term appeal.
