Is the 2015 Subaru Forester a good car?

Yes — the 2015 Subaru Forester earns a 4.7/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise its performance, comfort, safety features, smooth handling, spacious interior, value, fuel efficiency, and practicality. That lines up well with its role as a sensible daily driver for families and shoppers who want all-weather confidence, useful cargo space, and good outward visibility. Is the 2015 Subaru Forester reliable?

The owner feedback also points to dependable day-to-day use, with comments about practicality and value reinforcing the sense that it is a vehicle you can count on. For long-term ownership, the main risk is buying a poorly maintained example rather than the model itself.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Subaru Forester?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 190 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.77% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $11,669 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Subaru Forester's resale value?

The current average of $11,769 CAD sits slightly below last year's $12,490 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has moved in buyers’ favour, which can make it harder for a future seller to command a premium unless the vehicle is especially well kept. If you buy carefully now, you may benefit from the lower entry price, but resale will still depend heavily on condition, mileage, and maintenance records. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2015 Subaru Forester or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.77% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2015 Forester is a smart pick if you want a practical, all-weather compact SUV with strong owner approval and a market that still offers some deal opportunities. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a slightly older or newer example gives you a better mix of condition, equipment, and asking price.
