Is the 2015 Subaru Forester reliable?

The owner feedback points to a vehicle many drivers find dependable and practical over time, with praise for its everyday usability and trouble-free feel in regular use. For used buyers, the main risk is buying one without clear maintenance history, especially if you want to avoid surprises down the road.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Subaru Forester?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 26.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 185 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.95% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $11,647 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Subaru Forester's resale value?

The current average of $11,647 CAD sits slightly below last year's $12,254 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can make the Forester more attractive to buyers today but may also limit upside for a future seller if prices stay soft. If you buy at the right number and keep the vehicle well maintained, you can help protect your position when it comes time to sell. Demand should remain supported by the model’s practical reputation and broad appeal among used-SUV shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2015 Subaru Forester or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 26.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.95% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2015 is a strong choice if you want a practical, all-weather compact SUV with solid owner approval and a market that still offers some deal opportunities. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the best-maintained example rather than the newest badge alone.
