How much does the 2014 Hyundai Tucson cost?

Prices have softened 12.92% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 64 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2014 Hyundai Tucson a good car?

The 2014 Hyundai Tucson stands out as a compact SUV that had already moved well beyond its early, basic roots by this point in its life cycle. By 2014, the second-generation Tucson had gained a more distinctive exterior and a more polished interior than the original model, with better materials, more soft-touch surfaces, and fewer hard plastics. It also grew in size compared with the first generation, which helped rear passengers gain a bit of headroom and improved legroom.

For you, that means the Tucson makes sense if you want a practical compact SUV with sharper styling, improved cabin quality, and extra space for everyday use. The 2014 update also added useful equipment while keeping the model’s value-oriented character intact.

With 23.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.

Is the 2014 Hyundai Tucson reliable?

The source describes the 2014 Hyundai Tucson as having a relatively trouble-free nature, and that helped support its overall reputation. It also notes strong value retention, which is a useful sign that the model has held up well in the used market.

At the same time, you should shop carefully because recall history included issues such as a possible fire caused by the antilock brake controller, along with brake lights, airbags, a transmission cooler hose, and an oil leak. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is manageable, but only if you verify maintenance history and check that any recall work has been completed.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Hyundai Tucson?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to be patient and compare a few listings before committing.

• Deal availability: 23.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 64 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.92% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $8,296 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Hyundai Tucson's resale value?

The current average of $8,760 CAD sits slightly below last year's $10,059 CAD.

For a future seller, that suggests the market has already adjusted downward, so your resale upside may be more limited than it was a year ago. If you buy well now, you may still protect value reasonably well, but you should expect pricing to stay sensitive to condition, mileage, and service history. A clean, well-maintained Tucson should be easier to move than one with visible wear or incomplete records.

Should I buy a 2014 Hyundai Tucson or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 23.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.92% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2014 Tucson is a sensible choice if you want a compact SUV with improved cabin quality, useful space, and a market that currently favours careful shoppers. If your priority is value, the 2014 is worth a close look; if you want to stretch your budget further, compare nearby years and focus on the best-maintained example rather than the newest badge.
