• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2014 Sonata makes sense if you want a stylish, well-equipped midsize sedan with strong owner approval and a decent chance of finding a fair deal. If you’re more price-sensitive, it’s worth comparing nearby model years to see whether a better-equipped or better-priced example fits your budget more closely.

How does the 2014 Hyundai Sonata compare to the 2014 Kia Optima?

The Sonata gives you slightly more power, a bit better fuel economy, and a much larger pool of listings to shop from. The Optima has a somewhat higher share of good and great deals, so it may appeal if you’re focused on deal hunting rather than selection.
