How much does the 2014 Hyundai Elantra cost?

Prices have softened 10.66% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 165 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2014 Hyundai Elantra a good car?

Yes — the 2014 Hyundai Elantra earns a 4.83/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise its dependability, comfort, and fuel efficiency, and many also like its great value for money and user-friendly features such as seat warmers and backup cameras. For you, that makes it a practical compact car if you want an affordable commuter that feels more complete than its price suggests. With 18.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2014 Hyundai Elantra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.83/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also leans toward dependable, trouble-free ownership, with repeated praise for its reliability and fuel efficiency. That said, the broader model-year reputation is mixed, so used buyers should pay close attention to maintenance history and condition before committing. For long-term ownership, the main risk is ending up with a car that has been poorly maintained or already showing wear in the areas owners have flagged.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Hyundai Elantra?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be patient and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 18.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 165 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.66% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $6,675 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Hyundai Elantra's resale value?

The current average of $7,070 CAD sits slightly below last year's $7,914 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has softened, which can make the car easier to buy now but may also limit upside for a future seller. If you own one, you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and service records rather than on market momentum alone. A well-kept example should still appeal to budget-minded shoppers looking for a dependable compact car.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.83/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Hyundai Elantra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 18.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.66% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.83/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a used Elantra that balances value, comfort, and strong owner satisfaction, the 2014 is a sensible place to start. You should prioritise it if you like the idea of a well-equipped compact car at a softened price point. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, mileage, and asking price.
