This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on the best-priced examples.

• Deal availability: 23.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 217 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.60% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $12,599 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Honda CR-V's resale value?

The current average of $13,569 CAD sits slightly below last year's $14,374 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means future resale upside may be more measured than in a rising market. If you plan to sell later, the current trend suggests the CR-V is holding value reasonably well rather than appreciating. Its strong owner satisfaction should help keep demand steady, especially among shoppers who prioritise practicality and reliability.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Honda CR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 23.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.60% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $14,673 CAD, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $13,569 CAD average.
• It brings a more refined version of the CR-V formula with notable changes for the model year.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2014 is the smarter starting point because it combines a lower average price with strong owner satisfaction. If you can stretch your budget and want the newer model-year updates, the 2015 is the better secondary path.
