CarGurus Analysis: 2014 Ford Fusion
Summary
With 77 currently listed for sale and an average price of $8,305 CAD, 28.6% of 2014 Ford Fusion listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2014 Ford Fusion 4.71 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2014 Ford Fusion stands out as a midsize sedan that blends sharp styling, strong road manners, and a generous amount of space. Ford overhauled the Fusion for the 2013 model year, and this second-generation car brought strikingly sharp styling, available all-wheel drive, and the Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid model. It also earned a reputation for being a capable-handling machine, while still offering a roomy cabin and a 450-litre trunk.
For 2014, the Fusion’s engine range included the 175-horsepower 2.5-litre Duratec, a turbocharged 1.5-litre EcoBoost with 181 hp, a 1.6-litre EcoBoost four with 179 hp, and a 240-hp 2.0-litre EcoBoost Turbo. Most second-generation Fusions used a six-speed automatic transmission, and the gas-only 1.5-litre version was noted for returning the best fuel economy among the gas models, at as low as 8.0 litres per 100 kilometres combined. The car’s appeal also came from its balance of comfort and equipment, with features such as lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, automatic emergency braking, and Ford’s SYNC 3 infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto added during the generation.
There are a few trade-offs, though. The Fusion was described as not as deluxe as its price tag suggests, and non-hybrid versions lag rivals in fuel consumption. Even so, the 2014 Ford Fusion remains attractive for buyers who want a stylish, well-equipped sedan with good driving dynamics, plenty of room, and a broad spread of available features.

Its a good little car. Gas milage is great, has a bunch of features that make it comfortable to ride in. This one I have doesnt come with auto start or a heated steering wheel, but its definitely worth it for the value

Enjoy the performance of the cars overall power and handling, but brakes are weak and seems to have a bit too much turbo lag. Would recommend car for someone looking for a nice performance sedan under $25,000. Would like more room in back seat for passengers.

How much does the 2014 Ford Fusion cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $8,393 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $8,320 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $10,291 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $9,919 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −15.38% |
Prices have softened 15.38% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 72 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of choice in the used market.
Is the 2014 Ford Fusion a good car?
Yes — the 2014 Ford Fusion earns a 4.7/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its sleek design, reliability, high fuel economy, and spaciousness, and many also like the available features such as remote start and navigation. If you want a midsize sedan with sharp styling, good road manners, and a roomy cabin, this model year fits that brief well. With 26.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2014 Ford Fusion reliable?
Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback also highlights reliability, dependable day-to-day use, and a trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers. That said, some shoppers may want to pay close attention to interior condition and control layout, since those are the main concerns raised by owners.
For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright dependability and more about finding a well-kept example that has been maintained properly.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Ford Fusion?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.
- Deal availability: 26.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 72 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 15.38% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $8,320 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2014 Ford Fusion's resale value?
The current average of $8,393 CAD sits slightly below last year's $9,919 CAD.
That softer pricing suggests the market has become more buyer-friendly, which can make it harder for a future seller to command a premium unless the car is especially clean or well equipped. If you buy at the right price now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later. Strong condition, good maintenance records, and desirable features should matter more when you eventually resell.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2014 Ford Fusion or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2014 if:
- 26.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 15.38% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: You should buy the 2014 if you want a stylish, roomy midsize sedan and you find one priced well below the market average. If you're especially price-sensitive, it also makes sense to compare nearby model years and focus on the cleanest, best-maintained example rather than chasing the newest badge.
