Used 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4WD for Sale near Whitby, ON
4.7 Overall rating
(3 reviews)I love everything about the car. From the interior setup, to the options, to the outside trim and look of the car. I absolutely love it and it's my third Grand Cherokee Limited and I'm sure there will be more in the future.
The Grand Cherokee is one of the few vehicles in its class that I can enjoy driving. I drive a lot of vehicles, and very few cars feel like they have been properly sorted. It rides well, not too hard or soft, and the handling is responsive despite the off-road capabilities. The Grand Cherokee feels premium, the design is crisp and handsome, and the interior outfitting is also stylish, and in Limited trim and above, it's pretty luxurious. My Grand Cherokee is a 2013, which means the 3.6 liter Pentastar V6 and 5-speed automatic transmission. It's a well-proven powertrain that doesn't cause me any worries as an owner, but the newer 8-speed ZF automatic transmission is smoother and may also boost the fuel economy. I wish the Grand Cherokee with the V6 returned better in-town fuel economy, but it'd be even thirstier with the Hemi. I also found that the standard Michelin Latitude Tour tires are not any good in the winter. The 4x4 system has little trouble getting you going, but turning and stopping, and not sliding off the road, are going to be dicey propositions without proper winter tires. I invested in a set of Blizzak DM-V1s and they're on the car from early December to late March, making it sure-footed when winter strikes. A couple of personal preference things: The Limited trim has a lot of polished/chrome trim. I kind of prefer the Laredo's more understated painted wheels and body-color mirror caps and door handles. On the other hand, the Limited is a pretty well-equipped trim level, coming with standard leather, navigation, and even a sunroof. I skipped the panorama roof because it's a lot of weight high up in the vehicle and it's a $1,500 single option. I was also surprised to see that the Grand Cherokee isn't factory undercoated. I've got to be extra -diligent to keep salt from eating it. Reliability has been good so far, I'm pushing 40,000 miles and don't have any complaints about breakdowns or erratic behavior. I love the Grand Cherokee, I get asked about it a lot and have recommended it a bunch. It's not for everyone - there are vehicles that offer more cargo room and efficiency in the same price range, but none are as enjoyable to drive as the Grand Cherokee. If I'm paying the monthly bill, I don't want to hate every minute behind the wheel. In that sense, I find the Grand Cherokee, which can be a little more pricey than your garden-variety Ford or Hyundai, totally worth it.
I love this car. It's the first new car I've bought, and after doing about 9months of research I settled on this one. The interior is great. It's very comfortable and feels well made. I love (as do my passengers) the heated rear seats. The in dash media center is great as well. I've put about 8GBs of music on it, and it's as simple as putting in a CD or USB thumb drive, and hitting the "copy" button. No more lugging CDs around for me! I've had no problems in the month I've had it so far. I commute to work every day, about 20mins city and 20mins freeway, and at last fill up, I was getting 23.3 MPG. That's actually better MPG than my old 1996 Acura would get. Slapped some Goodyear Wrangler tires and MB TKO wheels and went up to the Cascade mountains. Handled like a dream. The traction control barely even had to kick in and when it did, I still felt completely in control. Couldn't be happier! UPDATE! My check engine light came on and it coded out as a simple emissions leak. I have an appointment to get it taken care of next week. UPDATE TO THE UPDATE! I think it was just a loose gas cap. I tightened it back on, and after a few days the CEL went out. I cancelled the appointment and everything is running fine. Still loving this rig!
