(5 reviews)Third Owner, purchased in June of '09 with 88,600 Miles Records dating back to '91. From the post delivery inspection by the dealer prior to sale to the misc. part replacements to this date, no stone is unturned on this vehicle. 3.0 Liter Inline 6, Automatic 4 speed transmission sedan. ~180 HP--~200 ft/lb of torque. car cruises seamlessly and moves when it needs to. Incorporating the Sportline suspension options would make the car track worthy. Anticipate around $1,000 a year to properly maintain a W124. Styling is timeless, comes standard with any the aged Mercedes. A simple walk around the vehicle, not even operating it, reveals a quality built vehicle with every detail having a purpose that will last for decades. Take care of the vehicle and it will take care of you. Washed and Waxed on a weekly basis, the car is serviced and tended to in an anticipating fashion. Modifications: -Early C-Class Polished 15" 8-Holed rims -Euro Amber Corners -Euro Headlights -Euro Wiper Assemblies and Valance Panels -JVC Mp3 Unit Couldn't be happier with this stately sedan and am looking forward to the years of ownership to come.
As all we known already ... It's thirsty ...
smooth riding comfortable on long trips.decent gas mileage once it gets go great acceeration .crusie control is terriable in this car very herky jerky so I never used it very quiet engine and great sound system in it .very pleased with care in gerneral
It's an Ambassador's ride, but THE worst snow car ever! Smooth as silk on the highway, gas is ok, VERY good juice for a 6. Fun(ish) to drive and looks like a Benz SHOULD! I know my kids are safe in this tank!
I love almost everything about this car. It looks great, Its incredibly reliable for it's age (16 yrs/ 308,000miles), and its not lacking (too bad) in the performance department. The torque it puts out is actually pretty good considering the normally-aspriated 187 hp I-6 but off the line (automatic at least) it sometimes lacks cause auto starts in second gear and it's pretty heavy so I sometimes have trouble geting up to speed as fast as others, but once you get it going, it GOES. I think the design in itself is classic and it will never really look "old". The luxury and design standards on this car really aren't too far away from some of today's car. I also really love being one of the not-very-many who actually drive a W124 E. Only negatives besides some performance weaknesses Ive noticed so far is the not-too-great (pretty bad) gas mileage (about 20city/25hw). Otherwise I love driving my car...:)
