I have driven my 1989 Camry v-6 LE Wagon for the last 5 years, after purchasing this rust free vehicle from it's second owner. The 6 cylinder engine has great power and quietly handles it chores of hauling the family. The car has nearly 160,000 miles, I am hoping to see 300,000 before I have to retire it. The folding seats make a useful cargo hauler when needed. I experience 19-20 mpg in town and 25-27 mpg on the highway.

What can I say about the Camry? It cost me $250 sight-unseen, bought off eBay and arrived on the back of a truck from NSW. I was told the transmission would need relacing – but the simple adjustment of one nut got another 18 months out of it. Other than a $350 second-hand transmission, it has had nothing but routine maintenance and tyres. My dad runs it up and down the Geelong-Melbourne road 6 days a week and has put nearly an extra 100 000kms under its wheels. It’s completely soulless and boring – but economical and reliable. If you just want to get from A to B (and with no literally no luxuries in between) then the Camry is the car for you. Don’t expect it to be fun…

It was a reliable car. It took a beating and kept on going. Until my Brother shot one of the rods through it and junked it. It was the first car that I drove and had in my name. I miss it.

The performance of this car is quite amazing based on its age. It is a 1989 toyota. yeah, it may be old, but it has never had any sort of engine problems. great car to drive. powerful enough to haul gear to campgrounds, carrying skis/boards to your favorite resort, or just city crusin. It gets roughly 18 miles to the gallon. not the greatest, but again, for its age, quite amazing. i would deffinately reccomend this to a friend if they are the adventourous type of person and loves to go places

Learned to drive on this car in high school. Got me from point A to point B -- and that's about it.
