(17 reviews)Great car! It's not for SALE!
I love my saab. It is a 900 s sedan with a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder making 128 horsepower and 128 lb./ft of torque. It's not a turbo, but I still love to drive it. It has 189,000 miles, runs well, and still gets 27 mpg. It doesn't do anything amazingly, but it is such a unique experience; it's not like anything on the road. The clutch feel is great, the gearbox is great (if you know me you know that I hate automatics), brake feel is good, steering is very long. I love the styling of the classic 900; it is so swedish and weird, but in a good, clean, european way. I also really like saab suspension. It is solid and planted, but still comfortable (I also like hard suspension). I love the europeaness of saabs, meaning tasteful styling, unique driving experience, and good build quality. I hate the cheap, plasticky build of american cars. If I could choose any car, it would probably be a bmw or audi, but I still like saabs. I like different cars for different reasons; I like saabs for being european and quirky, I like bmws for being performance machines that are easy to push to the limits, and are very rewarding to drive fast. All in all, I like my car for being what it is. It's not fast, but it's not suposed to be. I like cars for being what they were intended to be - in this case, a comfortable, swedish sedan that is nice to drive and be in. And the best part about it is that I only paid 400 dollars for it.
I had wanted this car for as long as I could remember. I did a national search for her and remarkably found her in Connecticut. 38k miles @ 16 yrs of age. For all intent and purpose, she was in mint condition. The engine is good and strong, even at 21 yrs of age. She is still in amazing condition, and out getting a face lift (paint job) as her beautiful black finish was starting to get a bit faded. The top is still in great condition. Mechanically sound. What a joy this car is to ride! So much fun!
i love my saab, i know its unusual and quirky and that there are those fools out there would will attempt to compare it to a freaking commie! but if you appreciate it for what it is (a solidly build, safe, reliable and comfortable vehicle) then you can't go wrong. that's not to say it doesn't have faults, some parts are expensive, they are an old car now and their rear leg room isn't gr8. but i still love it!
love it or hate it its a SAAB. Kind of looks like a duck in the front but it definatly gets its looks In a small city. good acceleration and handling but bad on gas. At least mine was. i put more fuel in there than my grand marquis. oh well
