Outstanding build quality in respect to design, component fit/ quality, performance and drive appeal. The 5 speed transmission is smooth as silk, turbo boost is exceptional over 20 mph (not an out of the hole pocket rocket) but the acceleration when merging onto the highway keeps up with the best of them. Excellent driver seating positioning and comfort.

Fantastically quirky and very comfortable and cossetting environment for the driver. Really enjoyed owning it for 3 1/2 years, but was slightly worried that it had to have its gearbox changed a couple of times (thankfully both under warranty).

I've always loved Saabs - they're 'different looking' (ie ugly to many), they sound different (kind of a high pitched tone, at least before GM bought the company), and they're solid. Mine's 15 years old; I've probably put $5k into it, but add that to its $18k price, that works out to $1.5k/year, which is pretty darn good. Plus it gets 24 mpg city 30 highway.

The parts are very hard to find and expensive when you can find them. Mechanics that know how to repair this vehicle are few and far between. It is easy to waste large amont of money on this thing, until you find a proficient mechanis.

Bought this car in 2010. Odometer at 173,000. Everything works except the air conditioning, but Danbury Saab says that it is 'fixable'. Replaced a few lightbulbs and this car is in perfect condition. Love driving a convertible around town in the summer.
