Car is not viable for on road use. Welded rear gears ( Lincoln lock).

All around amazing Jeep and fun to work on. Almost all years and parts are interchangeable. The development of auto lock ups was a big improvement in the 90's over the air actuated locks that I had on this. I replaced mine with axles off a 2000 Cherokee. Parts are easy to find and easy to replace. Most have some similar quarky little issues that can easily be fixed and most do not affect the Jeeps ability to run or drive. You just might not know how much gas you have or your oil pressure. Ride is rough but they are hard to break. Even after I ran mine into a guard rail and sold it off with 260k miles on it, it is still being driven today. These are very basic but amazingly well built functional JEEPS. They do what you need them to do and are great for modifying and rebuilding. My I6 still ran after I blew the heads and cracked the block. I drove it like that for 120 miles on the highway and it still started up even after it was moved to another Jeep to be sold off as a junker. Only down side is that like most older cars, these usually have a higher level of routine maintenance that is not necessary but will prolong the life beyond 300k miles. Most people looking for this kind of car will fall in love with any 1988-2001 Jeep cherokee.

Did everything in this car. Family car, long trips, modest off-roading, snow vehicle, it did it all. Built very solid and gave a smooth ride. The 4.0 straight 6 was awesome! Easy to maintain and reliable. It was an awesome vehicle. Loved it!
