(4 reviews)this car would be qualified as a boat it is one of the smoothest riding cars i have ever been in it just floats down the road just like a boat would float down the water it is so nice.
Awesome car to drive. Floats down the road. Extremely comfortable. Digital dash marginal, parts of it don't work, hard to find replacement or get rebuilt. Right now having trouble with engine missing, has a strange distributor setup. Intermittent headlight switch, difficulties with wiring. Interior perfect, leather roof perfect, body is metallic root beer, no rust or scratches. Missing one vinyl insert on door molding on drivers door. Excellent car. Carb troubles at the moment, loaded onto the trailer for trip into mechanics...this one is beyond my skill level...
I am a 79 year old 5 foot 3 inch Granny and it is hard to see over the long hood.I am going to have my Grandson drive it in our local July 4 parade and it will be the most beautiful car there, as it is a gray and burgundy Givenchy. When I drove it down the street almost every head turned to look at it. One man walked right into a parked car while looking. My first Lincoln was a 1956 and have had one almost continually since, but now will have to sell this one as I am unable to drive anymore.
Rare style, couldn't find any other pictures of this car. I'll try to add my own later. Very long car, not so easy to park so it takes some getting used to. It had the Ford 302 hp engine, before fuel injection (came out in later models, about three years later). It sucked gas at a whopping 17 miles to the gallon on the highway. However, the onboard computer, in stylish all-green computer style font, was handy for making and estimating arrival of trips and finding out current gas mileage and so on and so forth. Beautiful interior with dark blue velour front and back seats. It was a coupe, so getting in and out of the back was a hassle, but once there, it was like riding in a small limo. Very comfortable and I always kept the car very clean inside. Extra large trunk was great for large stereo system or luggage. The car's digital speedo only went to 80, however once at 80mph, the car continued to accelerate. The Ford 302 was a very powerful engine for this lighter Lincoln and was also quieter than most with only stock mufflers. Great shocks so cruising felt amazing even over railroad tracks and pot holes. Perfect car for learning to drive especially because with around 5.5 feet of hood in front of the driver, it's a safer car for crashes.
