None of my ac/heater controls seem to work. The fan is unresponsive (xs) in auto or manual. The fuses are good, under the dash and in the engine compartment, and I switched the fan and ac relays.

Any power to resistor block at heater/blower? If there is perhaps the resistor pack is done. Would try direct power to blower to see if it turns. Anyway work your way back, sounds like your getting there. Climate control units do go bad too so I would not rule that out. Good Luck!

Resistor packs are bypassed when in max speed mode, so I doubt it's that...but check anyway, as maybe something melted in a connector.

The entire hvac control console seems to be dead, the fan the recirc, the heated mirror switch all seem to be dead. normally when you turn the fan knob to auto, you hear noises from behind the dash, blend doors etc. there is nothing, no noises or lights on the knobs. any suggestions

Is there a separate fuse or relay that controls power to the hvac control assembly.

Having same issue. Anyone know what to do?

I have had this issue intermittently for years. Seems to only be a problem when encountering freezing temperatures with high humidity. Once the car's interior warms up, the problem usually goes away. Occasionally I need to remove the battery cables in order for the HVAC system to "clear its brain", since removing the related fuse(s) doesn't quite do the trick (there must be some type of background power run to the unit)...

I am experiencing the same problem. The dealership cannot find the problem. If this does not get corrected, I will get rid of the Forester.

The problem returned (previously wrote as GuruCLB9Q). The dealership order a voltage regulator for the HVAC and it is due for install next week.

Sigh...always the weird issues for the Japanese-produced Fors and Imps...I never see these strange problems with Indiana-produced Legs and OBs.

I just ran into the same issue. And it's high summer in Tennessee, no freezing temps to be found. Anyone had any luck fixing it?

Mine just started a few days ago in the AZ heat. First day none of the speeds worked for a few minutes. Then they started working one by one. The next day they did the same thing but now the high speed doesn't work at all. The rest of the speeds work.

The switch that powersThe knob that you use to select fan speed on climate control burned out on my ‘14 Impreza , took forever to find the problem but once I replaced it all worked again....for a day then it’s out again....ugh
