shifting problem with 2004 saturn vue. shifts hard into 1st gear replaced tranny 50,00 miles ago. does it sound like another tranny problem?

2004 satrun vue awd.  replaced tranny a 54,000 miles has 104,000 shifting very hard.  but not all the time..  sometimes will go days without issues.  then will happen every time I come to  stop and start again.

if it is a 4 cylinder motor u have the cvt transmission which is garbage and very expensive used and hard to find

Part of the problem is that the transmission is overheating do to inadequate cooling.. An external transmission cooler is the permanent fix. Change the fluid if it is anything but clear pink color. There are 3 external solenoids on this transmission. They are known to be sticky. You have to remove the battery box to gain access. If you experience the problem on the road, by shifting into low gear you can usually get it going.
