Hi, I need help! I just recently got into an accident in my 95 ford ranger splash (yellow) I LOVE my truck and have had it for 16 years. My insurance company wants to consider it a total loss!! It only has 101,000 miles on it and they are saying it's only worth 2,400. Should this truck be worth more? Isn't it considered an antique or worth more because they don't even make them anymore. Thank you for any response. I don't know what to do

Sorry to hear about your troubles, but that's how the insurance game works. They consider the cost of repairs to be higher than the value of the truck, hence it's a total loss. You might have them write you a check for the loss and then negotiate to buy it back from them as a salvage title (assuming it's still driveable), then pay for your own repairs, of course you may be putting more than 2,400 into it. To be fair, that is really about all your truck is worth, it was a cheap high-volume production truck and yours has a lot of miles on it.
