what fuses can I not replace on my own; owners manual infers some must be done by dealer

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Recycled start on car while moving drivers seat to new position. Heard sharp crack and all power was/is lost. Tried battery jumps but didn't solve problem. Checked fuses (smaller ones) related to engine start, engine power, etc.; they were all intact. There are a couple large fuses (140A,30A) in enclosed areas on the fuse block that seem to deal with engine power, etc. but they say see Lexus dealer. Any suggestions other than towing car across town to the Dealer ?

Clean off battery terminals. Get a friend to turn key, listen for clicking at starter relay inside underhood fuse box, if it clicks its good, check for power and grounds at starter. If theyre good hit starter wirh hsmmer while your buddy cranke engine. Now you can drive to the shop and replace starter. And if you unhook the battery it is safe to replace any electrical component yourself. Vehicle will be fine. Good luck

Car is totally dead (all functions); it is keyless entry/start. I can get no electrical (or mechanical) response to the starter, relays, etc.

I have a 2007 lexus hs350 and I was going to work. Started the car. Opened the gate and when I got back into the car ,put it in drive and it shut off and now I got no power at all. No dashboard lights, even the push button won’t light up.
