Question type: Shopping & Pricing

The car I am looking at has 190000km how long do the engines last traditonally in these cars and what things go that are expensive to repair at this mileage.  Any heads up you can give me would be appreciated.  Thanks

While the engine itself may last forever, you should check the turbo for certain hesitations in mid and top RPMs. Also, the roof mechanism isn't the most reliable around after all these years and parts are hard to find. Still, a good mechanic should be able to take care of it. Check if all the windows close correctly and tight. The less tight the fit, the more wind roar you will get, not to mention possible water leaks. Check if the SID (information display for fuel consumption, etc.) is working, since some of the pixels tend to go out after some years.
