Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Stopped running. Could it be IMS failure? If so, is it worth adding new engine?

I have a 2001 chevy suburban and its sputtering and misfiring and I have changed spark plugs and wires what else could it be

I have no way of knowing if your IMS has packed it in based on "not running". I would change the oil and check it for metal debris. A Porsche mechanic should evaluate it before you spend huge bucks on a new engine.

BTW. A new engine will cost far more than your car is worth. A good used engine (with a new IMS retrofit) is probably the best move.

Thanks F_O_R Engine died while driving. No big noise. Towed to mechanic. It is at our Porsche mechanic today. Was trying to prepare myself if they came back with IMS failure - what next step would be.
